This is the North Carolina Rice Festival’s premier and only ticketed event, and just like in previous years, this event has already  

Yearly, our Galas have featured lively and enlightening "edu-tainment" presented by such renowned Gullah Geechee performing artists as Ron and Natalie Daise of PBS’s Gullah Gullah Island fame, The coastal Georgia-based Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters, and Aunt Pearlie Sue and The Gullah Kinfolk traveling ensemble out of Beaufort, SC.

This year's speakers and performers will be announced soon, so stay tuned!! Add to this an array of Gala highlights including a Cash Bar and Silent Auction and you'll have a fun-filled evening.

And not to be overlooked—is the mouth-watering, Lowcountry-inspired menu of tantalizing appetizers, palate-exciting entrees, and delicious deserts, artfully prepared and fully plated to delight and educate your taste buds by award-winning celebrity chef and Festival Culinarian: Keith Rhodes of Wilmington's Catch Restaurant.

2024 Gala

The evening’s “edu-tainment” will be provided by Shea-Ra Nichi and The Cultural Ensemble.

 

Shea-Ra Nichi is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, actress, and director whose unique stylings combine traditional folkloric movements with contemporary and modern dance. 

 

Her Gala performance will connect elements of Afro-Caribbean dance, drumming, and spirituality to our region’s revitalized Gullah Geechee heritage, honoring those ancestors who have consistently shown us the way.
